The murder trial of a Sunrise Beach woman has been moved to Laclede County

The murder trial of a Sunrise Beach woman has been moved to Laclede County. 21-year-old Clarissa Donna Mae Escoffier was arrested by Osage Beach Police, following an investigation into the overdose death of another person in August 2023. Escoffier is accused of buying pills from a street dealer and then selling pills to the victim on the same night she died. An autopsy showed that the victim died from a Fentanyl overdose. At least one other person overdosed on the same pills but recovered. Escoffier is charged with Murder in the 2nd Degree. The case was moved to Laclede County on a change of venue and the trial is scheduled to take place beginning December 17th.
