Meramec Regional Planning Commission, with funding from the Ozark Rivers Solid Waste Management District, gathered 6.06 tons of electronics, appliances and tires at the October 9th collection in St. Robert. 82 vehicles from within the Ozark Rivers seven-county region – Crawford, Dent, Gasconade, Maries, Phelps, Pulaski and Washington – dropped off items at the collection. MRPC partnered with the city of St. Robert and the collection was held at the St. Robert Aquatic Center.
Appliances and electronics were the most collected items with a total of 4.26 tons. The most common items included water heaters, stoves and washers. An additional 1.8 tons of tires were collected at the St. Robert collection.
Collections next year are scheduled for March 5th in Potosi, April 30th in Rolla, October 8th in St. Robert, and November 12th in Belle with exact locations to be determined.
