Marshfield Representative Sponsors Employment Retention Bill

In this day and age of some serious worker shortages, Missouri is considering whether to let its state agencies and schools give employee retention and performance incentives. A bill being considered by a Missouri Senate committee would also let public schools boost pay for their teachers working in hard-to-fill schools or positions. The Missouri National Education Association opposes the piece of the bill dealing with differentiated pay because it says the language needs clarity. The committee has not yet voted on the bill.
