An August 9th hearing has been set for a Laclede County man who is accused of stabbing a man on July 14th. Laclede County Deputies were dispatched to Mercy Lebanon for a report of a stabbing victim in the emergency room. The victim told officers that he and his wife were renovating an apartment in the 33-thousand block of Highway “O” and a man identified as Dennis Paul Butler was living on the property as well. The victim said he asked Butler for help getting a generator running, after which he became confrontational and began shoving him. The victim said he hit the other man in the face, and during the scuffle realized the other man had a knife and was trying to stab him. He said he was also hit in the head with a metal crank. Authorities arrested 34-year-old Dennis Paul Butler and he has been charged with assault and armed criminal action.
