Write-in Candidate wins Mayors race in Richland

The City of Richland has elected a new mayor. Current Mayor Harold Needs was the only candidate to file for the office, but the number of people who voted for him was a lot less than the number of write-in ballots that were cast Tuesday. The write-in ballots were counted Wednesday in the Pulaski County Clerk’s office and Laura Lobland received the most votes in that election, beating Needs, 67 votes to 40. A second write-in subject, Terry Barlor, received 24 votes.
