Some of the latest unemployment figures are out and for the first time in a while, Laclede County has double-digit unemployment rates. Lebanon REDI President Brian Thompson tells us that Laclede County’s unemployment rate was 14.8 percent for the month of April, which is much higher than the state level of 9.8 percent. Thompson said the higher number is attributed to layoff’s due to COVID-19

Thompson said they are hopeful that May numbers will go down, as more people are able to return to work.
