Vehicles owners in Lebanon and communities across the region have experienced an increase in the theft of catalytic converters. Lebanon Police Chief Brian Arnold tells us that once or twice a week they are taking reports of this type of damage and theft….

Chief Arnold said it takes about 3 minutes for the thief to cut the catalytic converter off a vehicle with a saw…

The thief will take it to a scrap yard and get $50-to-$200-dollars, but it can cost the vehicle owner as much as $1-thousand to replace the stolen catalytic converter. Chief Arnold said they have made a couple of arrests, and have discovered the money obtained from the stolen property is being used to buy drugs.
