Voters of the Sunrise Beach Fire Protection District voted to increase the board membership from 3 people to 5, but the election for those two seats won’t be up for election until April 2021. In June of this year, one board member moved out of the district, and resigned, leaving only 2 board members to make decisions. But, according to information provided in a press release, the two remaining members are struggling to make unanimous decisions. Some people who live in the district are expressing concern about how the current board situation will impact services, but Fire Chief Joseph LaPlant tells us they are ready to respond to all emergencies…

 

The Sunrise Beach Fire Protection District Board of Directors meets on the third Monday of every month at 5:30p.m. at district headquarters at 30 Porter Mill Spring Road.
