The Ozarks had a preview of the weather that Spring will bring, with temperatures in the low 70’s on Tuesday, but Spring weather also brings a greater risk of severe weather. The National Weather Service in Springfield will be conducting Severe Weather Awareness Week, beginning on Monday, March 1st. Monday will be Preparedness Day, Tuesday is Tornado Safety Day, Wednesday is Lightning Safety Day, Thursday is Severe Thunderstorm Day, and Friday will focus on flood safety. In the event of severe weather on Tuesday, the Statewide Tornado Drill will be moved from March 2nd to March 4th.
