Missouri has asked the federal government to send response teams to help with the surge in coronavirus cases. What the teams would help with and when they could get here is unclear. The state’s virus cases continue to climb, including nearly 1,300 new cases reported on Thursday. During a statewide tour this week, U.S. Senator Roy Blunt urges Missourians to get vaccinated.

In April, Missouri completed an average of 53-thousand vaccinations per day. That figure has declined significantly – to about 76-hundred vaccinations being given daily.
