(Tuscumbia)–The Miller County Sheriff’s Department reported that a suspect has been arrested for a shooting incident Tuesday afternoon on Foote Lane. Deputies received a 9-1-1 call in reference to a shot fired and possible hostage incident that was developing. A male suspect–identified as Roy Derecsky–reportedly fired a shot from a firearm and then fled the scene. Derecsky eventually surrendered at a residence on Adams Road after multiple hours of a standoff, which involved the Missouri Highway Patrol Troop F Swat team along with Miller County deputies.
Deputies seized a firearm and methamphetamine at the residence. Derecsky has been initially charged with the Class B felony of unlawful use of a weapon with additional charges pending. He is being held on a 50-thousand dollar bond, in addition to other unrelated warrants from Camden County.
