September will mark the 150th anniversary of the Lebanon School System and there is a huge celebration planned for those who have attended Lebanon Schools. Eddie Smith the LHS Alumni Association shares some history of the district…

Smith and a group of former Lebanon students got together and have developed a plan to bring back some of those members by constructing a memorial on the grounds of the old school buildings on Adams Avenue. According to Alumni Association member Carol Bauer, the LHS Alumni Plaza is being constructed in part with memorial bricks that are being purchased by, or in memory of former classmates, and teachers…

Bricks are $50 each and include 20 characters per line. Those bricks will be added to the construction of the Alumni Plaza which will be located next to the Field House. Currently, more than 760 bricks with inscriptions have been ordered. The 150th Anniversary celebration will include a Golf Tournament on September 24th, a parade, and a vintage car show on Saturday, September 25th in the morning and afternoon. A dedication ceremony of Alumni Plaza will follow along with the big celebration at the Field House on September 25.
