Grove Spring Woman drowns at low water crossing in Laclede County
| According to the Missouri State Police, Kristi L Yates, age 53, from the Grove Spring area, drowned Saturday when she attempted to drive thru a low water crossing near Conway and her vehicle became disabled. Yates attempted to swim to safety but was unsuccessful. Her body was recovered at 5:05 pm. Laclede County Coroner, Steve Murrell was on scene to investigate as well as the Laclede County Sheriffs Dept and Conway Fire Dept. This is the first water fatality in troop I in 2020.
