An Osage Beach man is facing charges for possession of illegal items during his arrest on Thursday. Officers with the Osage Beach Police Department responded to the 43 hundred block of Huff Puff Lane for a burglary alarm just before 2 am on Thursday, and spotted a car that was parked and running near where the alarm originated. One of the occupants got out and started walking, and the officer called him back to ask if he had seen anyone in the area or heard the alarm. A second man got out of the car and approached, and when the officer ran a check on him it was determined that he had warrants for his arrest from the state of Georgia and Moniteau County. Both warrants were for failure to appear in court. The man, identified as 28-year-old Danny Lamar Hampton was taken into custody. When the officer performed a search of the vehicle, he located a baggie of methamphetamine and a loaded AR-15. In addition to being charged as a fugitive from out of state, Hampton was charged with possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a firearm. He is being held in the Camden County Jail without bond.
