Fort Leonard Wood hospital officials participated in a Covid Roundtable with members of the news media on Thursday afternoon. In his opening statement, General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital Commander, Colonel Aaron Pitney, told about the current Covid-19 Vaccine efforts on the post.

A Fort Leonard Wood Facebook post on Thursday stated that health officials are currently in Phase 1-B of their vaccination plan and are scheduling enrolled beneficiaries 75 years of age and older to receive the vaccine. The post stated that people who are 75 or older and enrolled in GLWACH will receive a call from the hospital’s Referral Center to schedule an appointment to receive the vaccine.
Colonel Pitney was asked why this did not extend down to age 65 and older.

The Fort Wood hospital is not accepting walk-ins at this time.
