Drought Concerns Growing In Show Me State

Concerns over severe drought are growing for some Missouri farmers. Severe drought has entered northeast Missouri’s Scotland, Knox, Clark and Lewis Counties. Rain has kept extreme drought from getting worse in central Missouri the last week, but the latest information from the U.S. Drought Monitor says dry conditions are expanding in northern Missouri. Dru Buntin, the director of the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, says dry conditions are becoming more noticeable.

Buntin says if more consistent rainfall does not come, it is possible that Missouri’s drought assessment committee could be called back to work.
