Murder Charges filed in Pulaski County

A St Robert man has been charged with murder. Kevin Hillman, Pulaski County Prosecuting Attorney announces that he has charged Darrin Lee of St. Robert with Murder in the Second Degree as a result of a fight and subsequent death of another inmate in the Pulaski County Jail.
On May 6, 2024, the defendant and another inmate disagreed with the television remote which turned into a fight. During the first, the defendant struck the other inmate approximately four times in the face, head, and neck causing him to lose consciousness and fall to the floor. Jail staff immediately intervened and took the injured inmate to the hospital where he later passed away. The entire incident was captured on the jail’s video camera system. The Sheriff’s Department requested the Missouri State Highway Patrol Division of Drug and Crime Control investigate the matter since it involved inmates in the Pulaski County Jail. The defendant was already being held in the Pulaski County Jail on two counts of Domestic Assault in the Second Degree with a bond for $300,000. Judge Long has issued a warrant in the new case with a bond set at $1,000,000 cash only.
