A recent listing of residents who have unclaimed property held by the state contained the names of many hundreds of Pulaski County citizens. Missouri State Treasurer Scott Fitzpatrick is responsible for returning Missouri’s Unclaimed Property. Each year financial institutions, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations turn over millions of dollars in cash and the contents of safe deposit boxes to the Treasurer’s Office. The Office currently holds more than $1 billion in unclaimed assets. 1 in 10 Missourians has Unclaimed Property and the average return is $300.
