When a vehicle strikes a bridge, drivers could see traffic coming to a halt, and major highways could be completely shut down. When there is a bridge strike, and they can find the driver, the cost of repairing the bridge is charged to their insurance company, but sometimes the driver doesn’t stop, leaving the Missouri Department of Transportation to pay for it.
