On Saturday, Fort Leonard Wood Family and Morale, Welfare, and Recreation kicked off its Strong B.A.N.D.S events for the month of May. B.A.N.D.S stands for Balance, Activity, Nutrition, Determination, and Strength. The 10-Mile Swim Challenge is beginning today and will continue daily during lap-swimming hours from 6:30 to 7:30 a-m and from 11:30 a-m to 1 p-m through May 28th at the Davidson Fitness Center indoor pool. Participation is free and open to authorized patrons. Participants must register with lifeguards on duty at the pool, who will keep track of their cumulative mileage. The first three male and female swimmers to complete ten miles will earn T-shirts and wristbands. The Strong B.A.N.D.S Story Walk will take place May 12th at the Bruce C. Clarke Library. The Strong B.A.N.D.S 10-kilometer run will take place May 21st at the Mickey Zaun Troop Trail.
