Child Pornography arrest in Lebanon

On March 7, 2023, 44-year-old Karl Mason of Lebanon, Missouri was charged with one count of Class B Promoting Child Pornography 1st Degree, one (1) count of Class D Promoting Child
Pornography 2nd Degree, and seven (7) counts of Class B Possession of Child Pornography. He is currently being held at the Laclede County Jail with no bond.
On March 6, 2023, members of the Lake Area Cyber Crimes Task Force and the Lebanon Police Department served a search warrant at a residence within the City of Lebanon after receiving
CyberTipline Reports from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding the downloading and sharing of child pornographic material across an email server and instant messaging social media platform on February 14, 2023. Evidence of the above crimes was located, and Karl Mason was placed under arrest and transported to the Laclede County Jail where he was later charged with his crimes. The Lake Area Cyber Crimes Task Force and the Lebanon Police Department encourage Internet users to promptly notify their local law enforcement agency of anyone who attempts to engage in unwanted, inappropriate, or sexualized communications with children. The Lake Area Cyber Crimes Task Force is partially funded by the Missouri Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
