Three Die In Webster County Fire
Authorities have verified that, on Monday morning, three children aged 12 to 16 lost their lives in a residential fire near Marshfield in Webster County. Firefighters believe that the incident was accidental. Multiple fire departments, including Elkland, Strafford, Seymour, and Fair Grove, responded to the blaze.
According to a spokesperson from the Strafford Fire Department, the emergency call came in shortly after midnight on Monday. At one point, additional water had to be brought in from Marshfield due to a shortage.
The victims of the fire have been identified as 16-year-old Ethan Smythe, 13-year-old Danny Smythe, and 12-year-old Bella Smythe,. They attended school in the Marshfield school district, which is providing counseling to students in the wake of the deaths.
No firefighters sustained injuries during the operation. The Missouri State Fire Marshal is currently conducting an investigation into the incident.
