Texas County Suspect is in Custody

A suspect is in custody regarding a homicide investigation in Texas County. On Monday night, Texas County deputies were dispatched to a residence on Pine Flat Drive in the Eunice area in reference to a suspicious death. Upon arriving at the residence, deputies located a deceased female with apparent gunshot wounds. The female was identified as Nikki Goodchild, age 31. This afternoon, the Texas County Sheriff’s Department announced that a male suspect is in custody, and the investigation indicates he is the only suspect involved. The investigation is ongoing, and the sheriff’s office states there is no danger to the community at this time. Formal charges have not been filed yet, additional information will be released pending the filing of charges. This is an active investigation.
