Stay Up To Date With The American Red Cross Emergency App

The American Red Cross has tips to help you stay safe during severe weather. We are entering severe weather months with the warmer weather coming in, and it’s best to always have a plan when severe weather may be on the horizon. Certain types of severe weather include flooding, hail, storms, thunder, lightning, and tornado watches/warning. A tornado watch is when the weather conditions are possible for a tornado, and a warning means a tornado is coming and you will get alerts on your phone to get to someplace safe. Stacy Burks with the American Red Cross Association has some tips to stay safe during a tornado watch/warning.

Floods are always possible as well and Burks says the best way to stay safe is to turn around and don’t drown

For more information, Burks says it’s best to download their American Red Cross Emergency App on Android or iPhone.
