Some communities will be observing Trick-or-Treating on Saturday because Halloween falls on Sunday this year. The largest area community–Fort Leonard Wood–is one of those who are planning for little trick-or-treaters to make their rounds from door-to-door on Saturday evening. Aric Freed, the traffic supervisor at Fort Wood, is encouraging parents, children, and other members of the community to practice safety first on trick-or-treating evenings.

Parents should instruct their children not to eat any candy they collect until their parents inspect it and declare the candy to be safe to eat. Children should never get into any vehicle with a stranger offering candy or other enticements.
