State Representative Suzie Pollock has pre-filed legislation that impacts vaccine requirements for school children. The legislation basically removes requirements that force parents to have their child vaccinated in order to attend school. Representative Pollock said this legislation was also filed during the last year, to protect the exemption process..

The provisions identified by Pollock’s bills would be in place for all school-age children, at all schools, including college.

Pollock has pre-filed legislation that could potentially help identify child death related to vaccines. The bill requires when a county medical examiner, coroner,
physician, or local register has been referred a case of the death of a child under four years old by natural causes more than 36 hours after being treated by a health care provider, the death certificate must include a request for information about the child’s last immunization.

According to the pre-filed bill, the health care provider must provide information on all types of immunizations provided at the last visit. The immunization information will appear on the child’s death certificate.
