On March 11, 2020, a patient presented to the Phelps Health Emergency Department in Rolla, MO, who met the criteria to be tested for the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19). Phelps Health is following its established COVID-19 policy and procedures, and has isolated the patient. Phelps Health is working closely with its Infection Prevention team as well as local and state health departments. As of this morning, Phelps Health reports that test results are still pending. It could take up to 72 hours for the test results to come back.

In unrelated circumstances, Missouri S&T in Rolla has cancelled all university-related events with the annual St. Pat’s Celebration. The school is also considering moving to all online classes due to coronavirus concerns.
