More than 120 Civilian Aides to the Secretary of the Army are at Fort Leonard Wood this week

More than 120 Civilian Aides to the Secretary of the Army are at Fort Leonard Wood this week for their annual National Conference.
The Civilian Aides to the Secretary of the Army will be in attendance for the Salute to Service ceremony taking place this evening at six o’clock in the Waynesville High School gymnasium. Missouri Lieutenant Governor Mike Kehoe and General Gary M. Brito will speak during the Salute. Brito is a four-star general and serves as the Commanding General of the United States Army Training and Doctrine Command. The public is strongly encouraged to attend this free event that will recognize students from area high schools who are going to serve in the military following graduation. This includes all South Central Missouri high school seniors who are joining or in the process of joining the Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard; National Guard; Reserves; Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC); and/or have received an appointment to a military academy. The Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army National Conference will have its 100th Community Gala Celebration tomorrow evening at 5:30 inside Nutter Fieldhouse on Fort Leonard Wood. The black tie/formal event will be hosted by the U. S. Secretary of the Army, Christine Wormuth.
