Laclede County Health Department Administrator, Charla Baker, is extremely concerned about the recent big spike in the number of COVID cases. 112 cases have been reported during the first half of June, while only 72 cases were reported during the entire month of May. Only one out of every four Laclede County residents have had at least one dose of the COVID vaccine. Baker says the recent spike in cases is setting off alarm bells…………

Baker says residents need to realize the COVID virus is still killing people in Laclede County.

Baker says the department is concerned about several large gathering events that are taking place throughout the next few weeks. She urges residents to still be cautious, especially those who remain unvaccinated. On Monday, the COVID death toll surpassed 600-thousand Americans.
