A preliminary hearing date is set for January 11th for Naomi Johnson of Lebanon. Johnson is facing Involuntary Manslaughter in the 2nd Degree charges in the death of a Lebanon toddler. 1-year old Kimber McDowell died after being in the care of Johnson on June 3 of last year. According to court documents, Johnson told authorities she laid the child down for a nap, wrapping the infant in a light, breathable blanket to help her feel calm and sleep, a practice known as swaddling. Johnson told authorities that she then went to watch several other children before discovering the infant was not breathing. Johnson appeared before Associate Circuit Judge Steve Jackson this morning for a counsel status hearing, where the preliminary hearing date was set for Thursday.
