Fire fighting crews from around the area responded to a fire at 6:48 Sunday night along Interstate 44 near St. Robert. The Missouri Highway Patrol says the fire broke out around mile marker 167 after a car heading eastbound went off the road and crashed into a median. Then, the car became fully engulfed in flames. No one was hurt in the incident but authorities say the driver may have been intoxicated. 40-year-old Derek A. Woodall of Highland, Illinois was charged with driving while intoxicated and driving in a careless and imprudent manner resulting in a crash. Woodall was released for medical treatment. The driver reportedly crashed into a median on I-44 earlier yesterday afternoon near Lebanon at the 123-mile marker but left the scene.
