The Empire District Electric Company/ Liberty has filed a request with the Missouri Public Service Commission to adjust the fuel adjustment charge on the bills of its electric customers. In the first filing, Empire proposed that the charge reflect actual energy costs incurred by the company from March through August 2021. The second filing is a true-up filing for actual cost. If approved, the cost to a residential customer would increase to approximately $7.15 a month. If approved the proposed change would take effect on December 1st.
The deadline to participate or intervene is October 21st. Comments should be filed with the Secretary of the Missouri Public Service Commission. at psc.mo.gov.
