Eldridge man who was accused of firing shots into a travel trailer found dead the a result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head

An Eldridge man accused of firing shots into a travel trailer in Camden County in February has died. 45-year-old Michael Horonzy was charged with assault, armed criminal action, and unlawful use of a weapon after firing at least 9 rounds into the occupied travel trailer on Bear Ridge Road. The bullets went through the walls of the trailer, breaking a window and television, narrowly missing the man inside. Today authorities report that Michael Horonzy was found at a residence on Normal Drive in Laclede County a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Horonzy was transported to Mercy Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
