Eldon man accused of scrapping air conditioners stolen from churches

Texas County authorities have made an arrest in the theft of air conditioner units. The Texas County Sheriff’s Office began investigating on May 20th after receiving multiple calls of air conditioning units being stolen from the Licking and Raymondville area. Two churches and a volunteer fire department building were targeted by the thief. Phillip D. Giller was identified as a person of interest and items linking Giller to the thefts were located in his vehicle along with receipts from scrap metal businesses consistent with the thefts. 42-year-old Phillip Giller of Eldon was arrested for felony stealing and institutional vandalism and is in the Texas County Jail with a bond of $10-thousand-dollars cash.
