(Washington, D. C.)–According to Missouri U-S Senator Roy Blunt, the Department of Health and Human Services has awarded more than 27-million dollars in corona virus response grant funding to 29 Missouri community health centers.
These community health centers include the Richland Medical Center in Richland and the South Central Missouri Community Health Center in Rolla. The Richland Medical Center in Richland has been awarded a grant in the amount of 855-thousand two-hundred dollars. South Central Missouri Community Health Center in Rolla will be receiving 653-thousand two-hundred ten dollars.
This funding will help these centers meet staffing needs, and prevent, diagnose, and treat corona virus patients.
Missouri community health centers serve 530,000 patients annually, 75 percent of whom are below the poverty level.
