County Commission to be a part of Settlement

The 2nd lawsuit of the opioid settlement was directed to the retail companies and distributors. Opioid abuse has had a big impact on our society and culture. The lawsuit was originally against large drug companies due to the impact that opioid addiction and abuse had in the USA. Those lawsuits have been settled. The retail companies are working towards a settlement with the state’s attorney general. The Laclede County Commissioners agreed to be a part of that settlement at their meeting this morning. Presiding County Commissioner Randy Angst says that the settlement could provide Laclede County with around 77 thousand dollars.

Angst says once the lawsuits are settled that should solve any further litigation
