Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt has ordered all local public health departments and school districts to stop enforcing mask mandates and quarantines, effective immediately. It’s in response to a recent ruling by Cole County Circuit Judge Daniel Green invalidating any public health orders issued without approval from locally-elected officials. During today’s Missouri Board of Education meeting, K-12 Education Department Spokeswoman Mallory McGowin spoke about the court ruling and the attorney general’s move.

Schmitt is running against a crowded field of Republicans in the U.S. Senate primary.
