A pavement improvement project is set to begin in mid-May on Missouri Route 7 from U.S. Route 65 in Benton County to Missouri Route 5 in Camden County. Construction crews will begin the resurfacing work in Benton County on Monday, May 20, 2024.  For the duration of the project, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, one lane of Route 7 will be closed in two-mile segments. Flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. The construction crew will start at U.S. Route 65, just south of Warsaw, and progress east to Route 5 in Greenview.  This project also includes resurfacing Routes NN, DD, and Z in Camden County. The schedule for these routes has yet to be determined. The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded a $5,317,932.20 contract to Capital Paving and Construction, LLC for this work, which is anticipated to be completed by Nov. 1, 2024, by contract. All work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change. MoDOT asks all motorists to work with us by buckling up, putting their phones down, obeying all traffic signs, and slowing down and moving over in work zones. Motorists are advised to use extra caution through work zones, obey all traffic signs, and avoid any distractions.
