Turtle Crossing Road Results in Moderate Injuries For An Osage Beach Motorcycle Operator

A turtle in the roadway is being blamed for a one-vehicle accident that sent a Miller County motorcycle operator to the hospital with moderate injuries.
The highway patrol says 59-year-old John M. Saffell of Osage Beach was injured when his 2014 Harley Davidson Breakout struck a turtle on Route U at Route Double-E in Miller County at 11:05 Monday morning.
The bike travelled off the roadway, struck a sign, and ejected Saffell.
The accident victim was taken by Miller County E-M-S to Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach for treatment.
