Sidewalks Getting Upgraded Very Soon

MoDOT will be upgrading sidewalks in the KJEL Listening areas soon. The sidewalks are getting upgraded to meet Americans with Disabilities Act requirement standards. Ryan waelterman with KJEL radio informs us on what type of work MoDOT plans on doing.

The Missouri Department of Transportation will start working in Dallas, Hickory, and Polk Counties beginning on Monday, April 22 and KJEL radio provides updates of where that work will be.

MoDOT says at times driveways and business entrances may be gravel as crews remove sections of sidewalks that run across to install new pavement. Crews will begin on Missouri Route 215 at the Frisco Highline Trail, and finish up in Cross Timbers.

Hunter Chase and Associates Inc. in Springfield is doing the work for a low bid amount of of $1.3 million, and the completion date is set for December 1st of 2024.
