(Crocker)–The Pulaski County Health Center is urging the wearing of facial coverings now more than ever, saying that mask-wearing is more important as the county is currently considered a hotspot for the virus within the state. The latest Covid stats underscore that warning, with 414 positive Covid tests since Monday, November 23rd. There are 12 known hospitalizations and 5 new Covid related death reports for an aggregate total of 30. The PCR 7-day positivity rate is 30.3 percent, placing Pulaski County in Category One, a county with extreme risk.
Due to high and growing positivity rates and community spread within Pulaski County and surrounding areas, the Health Center is advising individuals to remember the 3 W’s. While there is no current mask mandate, these practices will help protect you and our community. WEAR your mask while in public places. WATCH your distance. WASH your hands.
The Category 1 Recommended Action Plan includes business occupancy limits reflective of social distancing, a social group size of ten people or less, and masks are strongly advised in all offices and businesses where social distancing is not possible.
