Jefferson City)–While traffic this Memorial Day weekend might not be as heavy as in previous years due to the coronavirus pandemic, Missourians still are on the move this weekend.
The Missouri Department of Transportation stopped work in most routine work zones at noon Friday and will resume on Tuesday morning at 6 o’clock.
While most work zones are not active this weekend, it may be necessary for some lane closures to remain in place, such as on I-44 between Halltown at Mile Marker 56 and Sarcoxie at Mile Marker 29. MODOT is advising motorists to plan ahead before traveling by checking out the department’s online Traveler Information Map, which provides the latest road conditions, including closures, work zones, and incidents. The map can be found at www.modot.org.
