The Missouri Valley Conference has postponed the Missouri State-Loyola women’s basketball series (Jan. 8-9) at JQH Arena in Springfield, Mo., due to positive COVID-19 test results among Missouri State’s Tier I personnel, which consists of student-athletes, coaches, managers and staff. The Conference will announce make-up dates for the series/games at a later date.
Alvin Kamara has given himself the green light to play in the Saints’ wild-card playoff game against the Bears. Kamara, who was placed on the Saints’ reserve/COVID-19 list last Friday, is eligible to come off of the list just prior to Sunday’s 4:40 p.m. kickoff.
On Thursday night, Kamara wrote via Twitter that he will be back in time to face the Bears.
“See y’all Sunday,” Kamara wrote with a heart emoji.
The 25-year-old Kamara is coming off of his best game as a pro. In New Orleans’ Christmas Day win over the Vikings, Kamara tied the NFL record by rushing for six touchdowns. And while his success was enjoyed by fantasy football managers that have him on their roster, the NFL decided to fine him $5,000 for the red and green cleats he wore during his historic performance.
The first golf round of in 2021 at the Tournament of Champions is in the books, and so far the landscape looks a lot like last year with Justin Thomas thriving, Bryson DeChambeau saying insane things and Harris English playing some of the most proper golf in the world.
English co-leads at 8 under with Thomas ahead of a cohort of other big names behind them. The weather at the Plantation Course at Kapalua, which can oftentimes be nasty, provided tons of scoring conditions on Thursday, and most of the field took advantage with only Tony Finau (+1) and Sebastian Munoz (+2) playing the round over par.
