Manslaughter charges filed in connection with overdose death

2 people from Camdenton have been charged in connection with the drug overdose death that happened on January 19th. According to the Camden County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a residence on South State Highway 7 in Montreal for an overdose death investigation. During the investigation it was learned, the victim’s son, mixed a narcotic with another substance and then gave it to the victim, causing the overdose death. 24 year old Dereck Beck of Camdenton was charged with 1st Degree Involuntary Manslaughter, with a bond of $100-thousand. His girlfriend, 23 year old Morgan Walters also of Camdenton is charged with involuntary manslaughter with a bond of $30-thousand.
