Man attempts to forge car title

A Dixon man is facing charges after he allegedly trespassed on Walmart property in St Robert and then stole a vehicle from the parking lot. According to a report from St Robert Police, a customer of Walmart went shopping late on December 11th, and returned to the parking lot, to find his Toyota 4-runner missing. The victim reported that there were around $2-thousand-dollars worth of construction tools in the vehicle. Using security video police were able to identify a possible suspect. Johnny Lewis was arrested the next day by Lebanon Police and was in possession of the stolen vehicle. During the investigation it was discovered that Lewis had forged the owners name on the title to the vehicle to show himself as buying the car. Lewis has been charged with stealing, tampering with a motor vehicle and forgery. He is scheduled to be back in court today(tues).
