Fort Wood Fire Inspector Killed in Accident
A three-vehicle accident at around 6 a.m. Friday has claimed the life of a fire inspector for the Fort Leonard Wood Fire Department. The Missouri Highway Patrol reports that a pickup truck driven by 51-year old Tony Clark of Dixon ran off the road, struck a guardrail, reentered the highway, and struck the side of a tractor-trailer driven by 36-year old Eric Hogan of Spiro, Oklahoma. Then Clark’s truck was hit by another tractor-trailer driven by 59-year old Mark S. Stedorro Junior of Corpus Christi, Texas. Clark was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the department, Clark was an 11-year member of the Ft. Leonard Wood Fire Department and a retired Air Force firefighter.
The Highway Patrol reports that the crash happened on Interstate 44 near mile marker 163 around 6 a.m. Friday.
