The Lebanon City Council was given an update on the Floyd W Jones Airport during Thursday’s work session. Jarrad Schomaker provided information on a plan which would allow the construction of a new classroom for the OTC aviation program. The terminal building where the classroom was located at the airport was destroyed during the May storms, and the city is going to rebuild hangers that were also destroyed during the storm…

Shomaker said they continue to plan for some events at the airport…..

A planned mill and overlay of the airport runway will require the airport to be shut down for about half of July. In the meantime, the staff is working on ways to bring more aircraft into the airport including competitive fuel prices, and the website is linked to visitlebanonmo.com to give those flying in, a selection of events to attend while in Lebanon.
