The Missouri Public Service Commission will hold a local public hearing in Bolivar, on February 3rd, in an electric rate case filed by The Empire District Electric Company. The local public hearing will be held at Comfort Inn in Bolivar, with a question and answer session beginning at noon. On August 14th of last year, Empire filed an electric rate case with the Public Service Commission seeking to increase annual electric revenues by approximately $26-point-5-million-dollars. According to the filing, an average residential customer using a thousand kilowatt hours of electricity a month would see an electric rates increase by about $7.85 a month.
Empire serves more than 155-thousand electric customers in the Missouri.
