Do you have a Turkey Permit?

Spring Youth Turkey Hunting will begin in just a week away in Missouri, but before you head out, Conservation Agent Jarad Milligan says you must have a permit…

Turkey hunting is a population control measure, but that wasn’t always the case..

The Department of Conservation was formed in the 1930’s and started a Turkey restoration project allowing the Turkey population to grow. Turkey hunting didn’t restart in Missouri until the 1960’s. The Spring Youth Turkey hunting will be April 6th and 7th for kids age 6 to 15 years old. In addition, the regular Spring Turkey Season will be April 15th through May 5th.
For private property owners there is all day turkey hunting allowed. To find out more go to the Missouri Department of Conservation website.
