Change Of Venue In Lake Of The Ozarks Shooting Case

Judge Aaron Koeppen granted a change of venue in the case against a man charged in the shooting involving rival motorcycle clubs on the strip at the Lake of the Ozarks in July.
50-year old Tonka Way-Con Ponder is charged with the death of Blane Curley. He was shot and killed on July 15 near several businesses along the Bagnell Dam Strip.

Koeppen granted the request of defense attorney Andrew Rehmer during an arraignment last week. The case will move from Miller County to Saint Charles County.

Ponder is facing charges for first-degree assault and armed criminal action.

During the hearing, Ponder also entered a not-guilty plea.

The shooting left one dead and four others injured outside the Casablanca Bar and Grill on the Bagnell Dam Strip on July 15.
Police say this was the first deadly shooting on the strip in its 90-year history.
